If you just deployed a brand new server 2012 R2 essentials, and enabled folder redirection from the Server Dashboard Wizard, you are trying to test your policy logging in to a computer only to find an annoying message like the one in the image above: "The Recycle Bin on \\server\redirectedfolders\user\Documents is corrupted"
Chances are you have spent some hours reading through tech net forums only to find out unsupported work around suggestions that will actually jack the recycle bin function if you manage to get them to work. Luckily this is not a bug on the system, not an error that you should be worried about. It is simply an omission of the wizard. It is not providing permissions for the CREATOR OWNER in the root folder where you redirected data is going. To solve this, simply a) locate the folder that contains the folder redirection shares. (in Server 2012 R2 Essentials it is by default at #:\ServerFolders\Folder Redirection b) Right click on the Folder Redirection one and select Properties, c) Go to the Security Tab d) Click on Advanced e) Click on Change Permissions f) Click on ADD g) Select principal: CREATOR OWNER h) Select type: ALLOW i) Select Applies to: Subfolders and Files only j) In Basic Permissions select Full Control After finishing it successfully you will see: Try logging in with your test user and Enjoy!
